OnPage.org was born in Munich, Germany and the following interview is focused on the initial success of the company. The CEO himself Marcus “Mediadonis“ Tandler explains... so read on.. and find out more.
1. How did you come up with the idea of OnPage.org?
It was our CTO Merlin who came up with the idea of OnPage.org because he noticed while working for our clients, which were mostly big brands, there is a huge need of quality management for websites. That’s why we've created an automated solution. We’re aiming to help webmasters and managers to build better websites and monitor the improvement. It was created out of the insight, that human failure is a huge risk nowadays. A falsely used html-tag or even just uploading the wrong file can get businesses into serious trouble.
2. What makes OnPage.org different? AND why is this important for you during the implementation?
Properly executed OnPage optimization has just become more and more important. This was the reason to develop OnPage.org. Our product is a website quality management tool, which is 100% search engines compliant and has a huge impact on the search tool market. This makes us different. We are not analysing any backlinks. All analysed prospects with our tools are very effective for websites and help on ongoing search optimisation.
3. With customers like Sixt, Telekom and O2, “Startup of the year” and winning the Founder’s Award 2013, you are really successful within a year! What is your secret?
We have a clear vision and we just love our product! This is why we are working 24/7 to make our tool better and better. Our Customers can feel this passion and even better - they are becoming passionate about our product as well, even though it´s a highly technical software. It´s just very innovative and getting better with every new update we´re making.
4. In only 24 hours you reached the ‘Break Even Point’ by selling 100 accounts in Germany. Could you expect this rapid success? And how did you celebrate it?
We didn´t expect this amazing success at all, and we were just as surprised as probably everyone else. But when the 24 hours were over I remember a bottle of Champagne and some serious celebrating - it was just a great moment!
5. What would you say was the biggest learning curve while founding OnPage.org and do you have any advice for future entrepreneurs?
Our biggest and most valuble asset was, that we would need to find excellent employees, who are just as passionate about our product as we are. Young talents and experienced professionals are really hard to find. My advice would be - don’t hurry. It takes time to find those “rough diamonds”. If you are not sure about the skills of a potential employee, sleep on it. My other advice to other entrepreneurs is to never stop improving your product. When you love your product, there´s a good chance your customers will love it too!
6. Where do you see OnPage.org in the future?
Next year we will release our software in many languages and lead the company towards the global market. We already have great marketers that can support us globally and help us to understand foreign country needs. We’re looking forward to the next steps as it will include the localization of our software, offering our product to SEOs and webmasters worldwide. This year we are focusing on launching our product in the UK and hope for the same success as the German market brought us. It will be an interesting year!
To conclude: All in all, myself and the workforce are all equally passionate about OnPage.org and this is one of the major reasons for success. We look forward to introducing new features and updates in the near future so keep an eye on our progress and reap in the benefits of our superhero tool!
