Overview of the New Ryte Dashboard

We’re excited to announce that we have launched the new Dashboard! We listened to user feedback and now we’ve created a dashboard that just contains the information you need to ensure a better website. And it’s mobile optimized!

We took away the clutter and now we just have the necessary information - including tool tips - so you will always know what every term means! One of the most important things we wanted to include was a list of top issues, so you always know what you use as a starting point, as these are the most critical issues that could be hurting your website performance.

The Dashboard is split into areas Real Google Visibility, Website health issues, analysis summary, website monitoring, website health, as well as direct links to keyword recommendations, content editor and single page Analyzer.

Real Google Visibility

The first thing you see on the project dashboard is your real Google visibility chart. This shows your search performance over a 6 month time period, including a year on year comparison. You can see clicks, searches, CTR and position, and how this has changed compared to the previous 7 days - so ideal for your Monday morning reporting!

Website Health Issues

Your website health issues show you a list of your website’s critical issues that are important to fix to ensure a high quality website for users and search engines. By clicking on any metric, you are taken to the specific report that shows you in much more detail what the problem is, and how you can fix it.

Analysis Summary

The Analysis summary gives you a simple overview of how many URLs were crawled. If not all URLs of your project were crawled, you will see a banner explaining that your crawl limit has been reached, or that the analysis is incomplete. There are a number of reasons why not all URLs may have been crawled:

  • URLs filtered out by the project settings (e.g. just analyzing a subdomain)

  • URLs blocked by robots.txt

  • URLs using localhost (these are not crawled for security reasons)

  • URLs using a private IP (these are not crawled for security reasons)

  • URLs that are not using a web protocol (e.g. ftp)

  • Invalid URLs (e.g. with an incomplete protocol)

This section then indicates the following points:

  • How many URLs were analyzed

  • Number of internal URLs analyzed

  • Number of external links analyzed

  • Ignored URLs (for example due to URLs being excluded via the robots.txt).

  • Device type analyzed (as Business Suite customers can choose whether to analyze your desktop or mobile version)

  • Last analysis, and next scheduled analyses - as you can schedule your analyses to ensure that you stay even more up to date with your website optimization.

Monitoring

In this section you see some vital information regarding your website monitoring status.

  • Firstly, a green tick next to the sitemap indicates whether or not as a sitemap was found. If you see a green tick, you’re fine! However, a cross indicates that the crawler did not find a sitemap. Click on the item to get to the project settings. Click on What to analyze >> Sitemap URLs and you can add your sitemap URLs to ensure that the crawler finds them.

  • SSL encryption - SSL encryption is important for security reasons. For your website to be SSL encrypted, you need to make sure that all of your pages have https instead of http. If you see a green tick here, you’re fine! If not, click on the item to go to the indexability report where you will see your URLs that are not encrypted.

  • Server status - this shows server accessibility. This metric is on the dashboard so you can be aware quickly if something is up with your server. Click on the item to get to the Server Monitoring report to see spikes in server time so you can see where the problem lies.

  • Robots.txt - the robots.txt is a document that informs search engines which pages should be indexed (or not). It’s important for a website to have a robots.txt file, so if you see a red cross here, this is something you should look into.

Website Health

The website health area gives you an indication of your indexable pages. This is particularly ideal for getting an initial overview of a website. Generally, the majority of pages should be green! Seeing a daily comparison also gives you an indication if something drastic may have changed.

Keyword Recommendations, Content Editor, Single Page Analyzer

Keyword recommendations and Content Editor take you to Content Success, the module for helping you create fantastic content. If your website analysis is in progress, your dashboard won’t be viewable for a short time, but you can still access these modules! The Single Page Analyzer can also be used anytime, even during an analysis. This is really useful for getting a detailed overview of one individual URL - and you can even crawl a competitor’s URL to get some info or insights on the competition.

Use the new Dashboard as an ideal starting point for your website optimizations! Get all the important KPIs you need in one place.
